A French red tortoiseshell, brass-lined and ormolu-mounted striking mantel clock and garniture, circa 1880
With Cupid finial, mock quatreform sound frets to the sides and eagle mounts to the front angles, on scroll feet, the off white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with blued steel simple Roman hands, the eight day twin barrel movement with Brocot suspension and countwheel strike on bell and stamped on the back plate for Japy Frères -- 15¾in. (40cm.) high; and the pair of three-light candlebra en suite -- 10½in. (17cm.) high (3)
