The arched case with slightly bowed sides, glazed mercury thermometer to the trunk, with brass cistern cover, later gimbal and wall mount, concealed tube, with bevelled glass panel to angled bone plates with sliding vernier scale, signed on an arch above R. HORNBY & SON/36 SOUTH CASTLE STREET/LIVERPOOL -- 36½in. (98cm.) high
