A Napoleon III small ormolu and porcelain-mounted striking mantel clock, circa 1860
The Gothic case with bouquet finial and with three fluted and spiral-twist columns to each side, with Royal blue porcelain panels decorated en grisaille to the sides with flowers and to the front with military trophies, the white enamel dial with blue Roman chapters within gilt curlicue cartouches, pierced gilt-metal hands, with retail signature HOWELL & JAMES/A PARIS, the eight day twin barrel movement with Brocot suspension and strike on later bell, with repeat retail stamp and movement stamp for Pons to the back plate -- 12½in. (32cm.) high
