The case with brass handle to inverted bell top and pineapple finials, two glazed panels to each side, with moulded angles and on brass bracket feet, the brass dial with winged cherub mask spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre signed in an oval reserve Peter Des Granges/Cockspur St./LONDON, blued steel hands, with strike/silent ring to the arch above, the eight day twin gut fusee movement with latches to the five pillars and to the four dial feet (some previously pinned), with hour strike on one bell and passing half hour strike on another bell, with verge escapement, later hour countwheel with repeat signature and positioned on a back plate engraved with foliate scrolls and thistles; movement late 17th century, dial and case later -- 18¼in. (46cm.) high to fold of handle
