The balloon-shaped case with later chinoiserie lacquer panel to the front and on brass bracket feet, the replaced dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the centre engraved with a stylised eagle and bearing the signature Robert Wood/London, strike/silent lever at 60, with replaced blued steel hands, the eight day twin wire fusee movement with later deadbeat escapement and strike on bell, with leafy engraving to the circular back plate; adapted from a timepiece movement, early 19th century and later -- 15in.
