His favorite marques were Duesenburg, Bentley and Mercedes, and of these he had many. He was extremely interested in car design and detail one particular trait was for having his chrome blacked out, even on his then new Mercedes SS. He was friends with Briggs Cunningham and was responsible for the German Grand Prix team coming over right before World War II and racing at Roosevelt Raceway in New York. This archive material relates to cars he chose, coachwork designs and the highly specific details that he requested on each car, they make fascinating viewing.
