Contemporary calf, spine in six compartments with red morocco title label (a few minor stains and small holes to covers). Provenance: Gilbert Langdon (signature on flyleaf); Otto Orren Fisher (bookplate, his sale, part II, Swann, 5 April 1979, lot 748).

FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. "Petit was the first director of the Académie du Chururgie, Paris. He is particularly remembered for his work on bone diseases. He invented the screw tourniquet, gave the first account of osteomalacia, and was first to open the masoid process" (Garrison-Morton 4300).
