"Scarpa's large and excellent monograph on aneurisms, written on the detailed and comparative studies of the nortmal and pathologic tissues involved, established for the first time that an aneurism is not a simple dilation of an artery, but atucally the result of profound and significant changes in the arterial vascular tunics. In order to provide a safe pattern for operative procedures on the large arteries he showed them with well-defined illustrations on his topgraphic sketches.
