FIRST EDITION. Vieussen's cardiovascular studies precipitated several new discoveries. He described the correct structure of the left ventricle of the heart, the course of the coronary vessels and the valve in the large coronary vein. He was also the first to record the throbbing character of the pulse in aortic insufficiency and the symptoms of mitral stenosis. Garrison-Morton 2729; NLM/Blake, p.474.
