Super-chancery 4° (211 x 153mm). Gothic type, double column, 2 woodcut initials, initial spaces, initials in red, yellow edges. (Quire d misbound, index bound at front, wormtracks and evidence of chaining on last 2 leaves, neat marginal tear on two leaves, occasional light staining.) Contemporary German blindstamped pigskin over wooden bevelled boards, spine labels, evidence of chaining, (clasp missing, a few wormholes in spine, worn at extremities, small repair to back board). Provenance: Villingen, Franciscans (L C V - stamped on upper board, no.21 on spine) -- Donaueschingen, Court Library (sale Sotheby's 1st July, 1994, lot 39). HC 963; BMC V, 406; GW 3054; Goff A-1367.
