Chancery 2° (289 x 202mm). Sheets x4.7 and 5.6 reversed in binding at an early date, the mistake noted by a contemporary annotator. Gothic type, double column, initial in red with green Maiblumen penwork decoration, rubricated. (Small marginal wormtrack in first and final two quires, those at the beginning repaired, marginal tear in g2.) Early 20th-century purple morocco, spine lettered in gilt (a little rubbed, tear at head of spine). Provenance: Botendale monastery, near Brussels (contemporary inscription, annotations and corrections) -- Marburg (16th-century inscription) -- Albert Ehrman (monogram) -- William Foyle (booklabel, sale, Christie's 11 July 2000, lot 138).
