3 works in one volume, chancery 8° (136 x 193mm). Roman type, 2nd work with device of Jean Petit. (2nd and 3rd work without ?last blank, tear affecting 3 lines of text d8 in 2nd work, some dampstaining, heavier towards the end, a little marginal worming.) Contemporary blindtooled calf over wooden boards, 2 catches, pastedowns and endleaves from ?15th-century vellum document (lacking one clasp, head of spine slightly chipped, rubbed). Provenance: early marginal annotations -- Johannes Kunow, Havelberg -- Lehns-Bucherei in Erxleben (bookstamp) -- Victor Van Stedingk (bookplate).

RARE work of the Retro Minores press which operated from 31 July 1497 to 1504. Proctor attributed the work of this press to Martin Von Werden. BMC, however, suggests that, as the Retro Minores used three of Heinrich Quentell's types and 2 of the same woodcuts, it might have been a branch of Quentell's business. Nider's Consolatorium is dated to 1500 by CIBN. II: IGI IV p.142; CIBN N-97. III: BMC (German) p.484.
