Super-chancery 2° (316 x 213mm). Roman type, double column, initial spaces mainly with guide-letters. (A few wormholes in first and last leaves, 4cm square hole in *2, small burn hole with loss in a1, light dampstaining in corners.) 18th-century blindstamped calf over paper boards, manuscript vellum spine label, 13th-century manuscript vellum leaves as pastedowns (rebacked, extensively restored, extremities worn). Provenance: Angelo Paterno da Saxarbario (16th-century inscription) -- Petrus Franciscus Leonardus (copy of a contract dated 27 November 1567) -- Ferrara?, Abbacy of S. Anastasius a Valle, vicar Petrus Batagus (inscription dated 2 December 1567) -- inscription dated 1578.
The type assignment to Dominus Pincius is by GW (Goff) but this edition has also been attributed to Philippus Pincius. The date 7 Jan 1496 in the first colophon is reproduced from Joannes Rubeus Vercellensis' Venetian edition of 7 Jan 1496 and 12 July 1496. H *8564; Hunt 3106; Polain(B) 4436; Goff H-177.
