Chancery 2° (291 x 205mm). Gothic type, decorated opening initial in red and blue with red penwork, initials and paragraph marks alternately in red and blue, capital strokes in red. (A few minor repairs, occasional spotting.) Contemporary German blindstamped calf over wooden boards, modern brass fore-edges clasps (rebacked, rubbed and somewhat restored, leather darkened). Provenance: early marginal annotations -- Sand, near Straelen, Monastery of BMV (early inscription) -- washed inscription on the second leaf -- H. Legel (booklabel).
