Chancery 2° (269 x 186mm). Gothic type, double column, initials supplied in red. (Light dampstaining in the lower outer margin.) Contemporary German blindtooled calf over wooden boards, pastedowns from an early German printed book, modern brass clasp (rebacked preserving parts of the original spine, partly restored). Provenance: early marginal annotations -- Cristoff Sainterverger? (early inscription on title)-- various inscriptions on title.
Helias Regnierus was a French professor of law at Poitiers until at least 1494. The first edition of his book was printed at Poitiers in 1483. HC *13812; Polain(B) 3331; BMC I, 122; Goff R-117.
