Chancery 4° (201 x 143mm). Gothic type, 4 white on black woodcut initials. (Hinges cracked at quires a and b, some predominantly marginal staining, a little worming at beginning and end with loss of a few letters.) 19th-century vellum gilt, title in manuscript on front board, yellow pastedowns and endleaves, gilt edges (back board slightly rubbed). Provenance: early inscription and reader's marks -- B[enjamin] Fillon (inscribed on endleaf) -- 19th-century title inscription in Latin and French (front board and flyleaf).
