MARILYN MONROE FILM FOOTAGE
A reel of 8 mm color film shot by Lee Gilette at a publicty event for the Ray Anthony Orchestra, with special guest star Marilyn Monroe. The film was shot on August 8,1952 in Sherman Oaks, California for a publicity stunt for the song, "Marilyn." Lee Gilette worked for Capitol Records at the time. The footage begins with shots of Ray Anthony and guest waiting for Marilyn to appear. Also shown are bandmates and friends including Mickey Rooney, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Frank DuVall and Mickey Katz. Marilyn, appearing in the dress most likely from Niagara (20th Century Fox), arrives in a Navy helicopter and appears on stage as Ray Anthony plays the trumpet. This footage has never before been seen.
