ELVIS PRESLEY INVOICE AND CHECK FOR OPENING NIGHT WARDROBE AT THE LAS VEGAS INTERNATIONAL HOTEL
1969
A handwritten invoice to Elvis Presley from clothing designer Bill Belew for creating outfits for Presley's concerts in Las Vegas, and the accompanying payment. The green check was drawn on the Elvis Presley Payroll & Expense Fund from the National Bank of Commerce in Memphis, Tennessee and is signed by Elvis' father, Vernon Presley. After designing Presley's black leather outfit for the '68 Comeback Special, Presley asked Belew to create two suits that would allow him greater movement for his live performances in Las Vegas. Belew created two outfits, one black and one white, which Elvis used during the start of his dates at the International Hotel in Las Vegas.
