ARTHUR GUNTER OWNED AND USED GUITAR
1960s
A Kent guitar, Serial No. 0565992, in gold finish, double cutaway body, 20 fret fingerboard, two single coil pickups, three selector switches, two rotary controls, whammy bar mounted at bridge, owned and played extensively by Arthur Gunter. One of the earliest artists on the rhythm & blues label Excello, Gunter scored a national hit in 1954 with "Baby, Let's Play House," the first for him and for the fledgling record label. Shortly after Gunter's song was released, it was covered by Elvis Presley for Sun Records. Also present are a letter of authenticity and a facsimile photo of Gunter playing the guitar.
