An RIAA sales award presented to John Bonham to commemorate the sale of more than $6,000,000 worth of the Atlantic Records long-playing record album Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin was formed by Jimmy Page after the break-up of The Yardbirds. Bonham was brought to the attention of Page by lead singer Robert Plant. Released in January 1969, Led Zeppelin was an immediate success on both sides of the Atlantic.
