A seven page handwritten letter from Janis Joplin to her then boyfriend Peter DeBlanc. Penned on Halloween 1965, Joplin writes DeBlanc from New York with concerns regarding his health and hospital fees and is sympathetic to his financial state. In part: "Called Debbie today and found out that you are going to be released from the hospital Tuesday and that they're charging you $3,500 or something equally ridiculous & that you are going to contest it & also that you don't have any money." Also present is the original transmittal envelope.
