THE DOORS SILKSCREEN HANDBILL ARTWORK AND ART PROOFS

A series of three original pieces of film used to create an intricate three-color handbill for a concert by The Doors in New York City, and four uncut art proofs of the handbill, three across, in a variety of colors. The silk-screened handbills were created using the film and reads in part, "Bill Graham Presents In New York The Joshua Light Show Ars Nova Crome Syrcus The Doors 2 shows each night." Created by Jimms Nelson, the art for the handbill incorporates the faces of the individual members of The Doors, elaborate hand lettering of the bands' names, and numerous psychedelic patterns indicative of the hypnotic light shows that accompanied the performances.
