JOHN LENNON WRITTEN AND SIGNED POSTCARD
1971
An unsent and unaddressed postcard written and signed by John Lennon to an unknown person in black felt-tip ink. The postcard reads, "Yoko's been an artist before you were even a groupie. Why don't you open you box and dig Mind Train' or Fly.' Your prejudices can't be that deep. Love John Lennon P.S. You might have an ageing problem, me? I wouldn't go back one day!" The postcard is printed on verso with an altered black and white depiction of a painting entitled Spring Evening. In the alteration, the satyr is wearing Lennon glasses and a woman leaning against a tree has had Yoko Ono's head placed over her own. In the lower left corner is printed "John Lennon 1971."
