The blue chalk inscription 'SA16712' to the undersides of the surtout as well as the two pairs of cut-glass and ormolu etageres are probably inventory marks of the Royal House of Savoy.

ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE-PHILIPPE THOMIRE, CIRCA 1810
In three sections with rounded ends and mirror plates, the pierced scrolling vine gallery cast with bacchic putti, the panelled frieze decorated with trailing foliage and flower heads, with rounded stiles cast with female masks in foliate wreaths and stepped plinth feet, each element with blue chalk inscription to underside 'SA16712'
