These elegant girandole mirrors are closely related to the oeuvre of Burchard Precht (d. 1738), who arrived in Stockholm in 1674 to work at Drottningholm and was named carver to the court in 1682. Various related mirrors in the Royal palaces are attributed either to Burchard Precht or his sons Gustav (d. 1763) and Christian (d. 1779). Characteristic for Precht's oeuvre are the fine gilt-lead mounts, such as those on these girandoles. A related mirror incorporating cherubs with trumpets is illustrated in G. Upmark, Möbler, Stockholm, 1912, vol. I, fig. 26, while a further related example is illustrated in S. Wallin, Nordiska Museets Möbler fran Svenska Herremanshem, Stockholm, 1931, vol. I, figs 335 and 337.
