(LOTS 249-259) Palazzo Orsini in via Monte Savello, Rome, was built by Baldassarre Peruzzi in 1523-27 for the Savelli, one of the famous mediaeval families of Rome. The palazzo, which has three wings around a small garden, is built on the ruins of the Teatro di Marcello. The Palazzo became property of the Orsini family in 1716.

The rectangular plate within a moulded surround carved with scrolling foliage and flowers, surmounted and flanked by engraved cartouche-shaped mirror plates, the cresting depicting a resting maiden within a scrolling foliage and rockwork cartouche surmounted by a dragon and flanked by ribbon-tied trophies, the side panels depicting a winged putti and a satyr, within similar scrolling foliage and rockwork surround, one small engraved mirror broken, the main plate replaced, lacking the apron element
