The white painted Roman dial signed EVANS & SON/BIRMINGHAM/SOHO CLOCK FACTORY, blued steel hands, with central XII hour ring with pins at five minute intervals, cord to the side, the eight day single wire fusee movement with anchor escapement and tapering plates joined by four pillars; wood rod pendulum

This clock was probably positioned in a foyer or entrance way. Unlike other nightwatchman's clocks, which require the guard to be at certain positions at regular intervals, this example requires him to stay at his post (and to be awake). The dial shows if he has not pulled a cord at regular intervals.
