A REPOUSSE SILVER METAL FRAMED MIRROR
With a rectangular plate within a surround of scrolling foliage over red velvet and with foliate and guilloche borders, with a typed label to the reverse, CHARLES II SILVER MIRROR. Originally one of the rich furnishings of the House of Stuart this mirror was presented by Queen Anne to Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough and remainrd in the possession of the Churchill family until the death of the 1st Viscountess Cowdray, a descendant of the Churchills. The mirror was then sold by order of the executors of the Viscountess Cowdray.
