Alcedo Alcyon
engraving with etching, aquatint and hand-coloring, 1830, on J Whatman watermark Turkey Mill 1829, with full margins, occasional pale foxing, minor surface soiling and a few soft handling creases in the margins, two 1-in. lines of pale staining or old glue remains in the lower margin, a 2¼-in. curved repaired tear at the upper left margin edge (backed and with associated old glue staining on the reverse, slightly showing through), a ¼-in. diagonal tear at the lower left margin edge, a 1-in. diagonal crease across the upper right margin corners, a few short tears, creases and soft rippling at the margin edges, otherwise in good condition
