THE DIAL SIGNED SAMUEL MULLIKEN, SALEM, MASSACHUSETTS, 1790-1810

In its design and construction, this clock is nearly identical to an example signed by the clockmaker William Fitz (1770-1827) of Portsmouth, New Hamphire (see Jobe, Portsmouth Furniture: Masterworks from the New Hampshire Seacoast (Boston, 1993) cat. no. 40).
