The pair of figures probably emblematic of Spring and Summer from a Set of the Seasons, each modelled seated before flowering bocage, Spring holding a basket of flowers, Summer a sheaf of corn, on scroll-moulded bases; the busts quarter-length, one emblematic of Autumn, modelled as a bacchic figure wearing a garland of vines in his hair, the other a gentleman emblematic of Winter, wrapped in pink fur-trimmed cloak, on shaped octagonal plinth bases
The figures approx. 6 in. (15.2 cm.) high; the busts 4¼ in. (10.8 cm.) high (4)
