The bombé box painted with a continuous scene of figures in a wooded landscape, with a figure on horseback at discussion with another figure standing by his horse, a town by a lake or river in the distance with mountains beyond, below a double channelled gilt line and gilt band border, the footrim with a gilt band, the domed cover with a hunting scene with huntsmen approaching a river, within an oval Böttger-lustre cartouche gilt with scrolls and flowerheads and edged with iron-red and puce scrolls, within a moulded gilt band rim (sanding to glaze, box with slight firing fault to footrim, cover with minute areas of wear to gilt rim)
