CIRCA 1725-30, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, GILDER'S V. TO BOTH
Of hexagonal section, the shoulder and raised ribbed borders gilt, the facets painted with harbour scenes with merchants at discussion and various pursuits by cargo, fortifications and rocky outcrops before ships and distant islands with towers, the cylindrical cover edged with a broad gilt band, the top gilt with tightly interwoven scrolls about a flowerhead (shoulder with slight flaking to gilding)
