CIRCA 1735, TEAPOT WITH BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK AND DREHER'S *, GILDER'S V. TO BOTH
One side painted with a nocturnal scene with figures about a fire in an encampment, the other with three figures on horseback in a landscape, within gilt shaped quatrefoil cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels edged with gilt, iron-red and purple scrolls, with Kakiemon sprays about the spout and handle, the handle with Gitterwerk and a further flower-spray, the tapering straight spout richly gilt, a Kakiemon vignette below with a flowering shrub and bound grasses, below a gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk border and gilt band rim, the domed cover with a continuous estuary scene with a galleon and merchants below a gilt ball finial, within a double concentric red circle border and gilt band rim (very slight wear to gilding)
