A MEISSEN (AUGUSTUS REX) CHINOISERIE YELLOW-GROUND BALUSTER VASE AND DOMED COVER
CIRCA 1735, BLUE AR MONOGRAM, DREHER'S XII TO FOOTRIM
Painted in the manner of C.F. Herold with Orientals on a terrace with fencing, one figure seated at a table and holding a fan, before a plinth surmounted by a bowl of objects and a palm tree, the reverse painted in a bright palette with peony, chrysanthemum and flowering shrubs, within quatrefoil cartouches, the cover with similar smaller cartouches with conforming decoration, the cylindrical neck painted in shades of purple and iron-red with a band of shell, scrolling leaf and flamiform ornament bordering a diaper-pattern panels (some minor surface scratches, principally to ground colour)
