A MEISSEN BARREL-SHAPED SUGAR-CASTOR, SCREW-TOP AND COVER
CIRCA 1750, BLUE CORSSED SWORDS MARK
Of lobed section with bud finial and branch handle with flower and leaf terminals, moulded with Gotzkowsky erhabene Blumen and painted with deutsche Blumen, the screw-top with a gilt trellis and dot pattern border, the cover with a gilt-line rim (the castor restored with a section of screw rim repaired and overpainted to interior, minute chip to petals of finial and to inner rim and edge of screw-top, extended firing crack to mid-point of handle)
