A MEISSEN RECTANGULAR PORTRAIT PLAQUE
CIRCA 1760, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK
Painted and stippled with a quarter length portrait of a nobleman or gentleman, wearing a white wig with a black ribbon at the back, a white jabot and a green-lined puce jacket, within an oval band enclosed by an oval yellow and puce ribbon encircling a puce line, with stylised gilt foliage at the corners and rectangular gilt line border, in a later giltwood frame
The plaque 2 7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) high
