CIRCA 1765, BLUE Z AND TWO DOTS MARK, INCISED NI+2
Each side painted by Thomae with mountainous broad estuary or lake scenes, one with a solitary figure before dilapidated buildings nestling among trees, the other with two figures, the scrolling tapering spout and ear-shaped handle enriched with puce foliage and stylised flowerheads, the shallow-domed cover with a vignette of a tree and rocks by a white and puce flower finial, gilt dentil rims (areas of minute wear to gilding, teapot with minor chip to interior flange of upper rim, minute chipping to footrim and firing fault to handle, cover with two rim chips and leaf terminals lacking)
