The rectangular rounded top with gilt-tooled green leather-lined writing-surface above two gilt-tooled black leather-lined slides to each side, above a panelled frieze fitted with one long and three short drawers, the right drawer simulating two drawers, enclosing a fitted interior with safe and drop-in open compartment, five simulated drawers to the reverse, on stop-fluted circular tapering legs and bun feet, headed by floral husks, stamped J.V.Werner
