The carved ivory nativity scene with ruins of a classical building, the holy family surrounded by shepards, above a demi-lune of music-playing angels and supporing the figure of god holding the earth, on stylised foliate scroll base, against red velvet lining, the ebonised and simulated tortoise-shell shaped wood case with ormolu foliate and scroll ornaments, the broken pediment centred by an ormolu vase finial,
