the three panels, each divided into a triptych and showing various aspects of the whaling life. The scenes depicted are: a cooper smith, three whales with a ship, caulking a ship, repairing a ship, a whale with two ships and a whaleboat, a blacksmith, cutting in a whale, harpooning a whale with ship in the background, and working over an open barrel. All carved in relief, and with the carver's name plate affixed to the front.
