CRUTCHLEY'S New and Improved CELESTIAL GLOBE ON WHICH Is carefully laid down the whole of the STARS AND NEBULAE Contained in the ASTRONOMICAL CATALOGUE, of the Revd MR WOLLASTON, F.R.S. Also from the Authorities of FLAMSTEED, DE LA CAILLE, HEVELIUS, MAYER, BRADLEY, HERSCHEL, MASKELYNE &c. And the Limits of each Constellation determined by a Boundary Line. LONDON. Published by G.F. Crutchley, Map Seller and Globe Maker, 81, Fleet Street, made up of two sets of eighteen finely engraved hand-coloured gores laid to the ecliptic poles, the axis through the celestial poles, the equatorial graduated in degrees, hours and minutes, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils and names and twilight zone, the equinoctial and solstitial colures graduated in degrees, the stars to nine orders of magnitude and variously labelled according to the catalogue of their source with a key beneath the cartouche, some further with names in Latin, also with nebulae, nebulae clusters, simple clusters and Dup, the constellations elegantly depicted by mythical beasts, figures and scientific instruments, with an engraved brass hour dial, stamped brass meridian circle graduated in degrees on one side and in four quadrants, the hand-coloured engraved horizon with degrees of amplitude and azimuth, compass directions, days of the houses of the Zodiac with names and sigils, and days of the month with names, the mahogany horizon on three curved supports to turned central pillar with brass meridian support and roller, on three tapered and fluted legs with castors, the original uncoloured engraved compass mounted between three turned stretchers.
