the barrel with micrometer fine adjustment at the nosepiece, unscrewing for storage from a short arm to the rack and pinion focusing mechanism in the main limb, the stage with sliding object mount with clips and concave substage mirror, the main limb tilting on a raised U-shaped foot, with a ¼in. Swift objective and another stamped only No.6, one eyepiece, a livebox slider and five glass slides, in a mahogany carrying case with brass handle -- 9 5/8in. (24.5cm.) high;
and an early 20th-Century German polished-brass compound monocular microscope by CARL ZEISS JENA Nr. 191369, the barrel with quadruple nosepiece on a curved limb with rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, over a mechanical stage Nr.22139 with substage condensor and plano-concave mirror, raised on a V-shaped foot, with Zeiss x5, x 10 and x15 eyepieces, Zeiss 8, 40 and 90 objectives and a Broadhurst 1/6 objective, in a pine carrying case with steel handle
