A jar-shaped three-case tortoiseshell inro
inlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral, malachite and ivory with Shiba Onko as a child who saved a playmate, the reverse with a tree issuing from a rock, the sides in metal, black lacquer interior -- 3¼.in (8.3cm) long, late 18th/early 19th Century; attached ivory netsuke of a karashishi, (some old damage and small pieces missing).
