AN EARLY BATTLEFIELD COMMAND FROM NAPOLEON. The letter reads in full: "There is one superfluous cannonier for two pieces, one for two pieces is sufficient and one major Guard per magazine. You will moreover send me the condition of those that you think will be employed at the Batteries of the Gulf of Jonan, by the islands of Margueritte and Honorat."
