CERVANTES Saavedra, Miguel de (1547-1616). El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha, Paris: Julio Didot Mayor, 1827. 16° (121 x 75mm). Engraved frontispiece of Cervantes by Stalker, engarved title page with architectural border, 8 engaved illustrations by Stalker (title page lightly browned, some spotting, light stain to top corner towards the end). Contemporary polished calf by the royal binder, Simier ('Simier R. du Roi' stamped on spine), blindtooled cathedral-stule border, gilt central knight with shield and crossed swords and lances, gilt spine, marbled pastedowns and endpapers, gilt edges. Brunet II, 1750.
