Signed Webster, Queen Victoria Street, London, No. 17941. Circa 1840
The frosted gilt three quarter plate movement with Nicole Nielsen winding, jewelled to the third with screwed chatons, the bimetallic balance with flat blued steel hairspring, ruby endstone, lever escapement, inscribed Patent, repeating the hours, quarters and half quarter by operating a slide in the band, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer seconds ring graduated in fifths of seconds, with Arabic five minute divisions, sweep centre seconds, blued steel spade hands, in (later) eighteen carat gold case London hallmark 1981
