G.T. An unusual Swiss silver quarter repeating open face keyless pocket watch, the repeat being activated by the winding crown
Signed G.T. Swiss made, case No. 650442. Circa 1890
The frosted gilt bar movement jewelled to the third, monometallic balance with cylinder escapement, repeating hours and quarters by first pulling out the winder to set the repeat mechanism and then by repeatedly pressing the crown whereby the hours will be struck on one gong, and the quarters on two gongs, with enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and gold spade hands, in plain silver case with hinged cuvette
