The boxwood movement with hanging barrel, brass balance, cylinder escapement and wooden wheels, the boxwood dial with applied silver chapter ring with Roman numerals, blued steel hands, in a boxwood case glazed to the front and back, boxwood pendant and ring

Purchased Christie's, 16 October, 1962, lot 135.

These boxwood watches were made almost entirely of wood, sometimes with ivory or bone parts. They are largely attributed to the Russian watchmaker Bronikov, working examples of these watches are rare.
