A Continental gold open face ruby cylinder pocket watch with independent seconds
Probably French. Circa 1830
The frosted gilt two-train movement with hanging barrels, monometallic balance with ruby cylinder escapement, the silver engine turned dial with polished Roman chapter ring, outer seconds ring, blued steel moon hands, sweep centre seconds indicating jumping seconds, in engine turned gold case with a gilt cuvette inscribed Vieyres, 40, Pall Mall, French hallmark for 1819-1838
